INTRODUCTION
Technology is a rapidly changing tool in
the latest world using tablets, cell phones, and other devices often not dated
within a few years. Through this technology we can access many things we want
to find. technology also gives new teachers a sense of belonging to school as
well as teaching aids in the classroom.
21ST C TOOL : INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD
An interactive whiteboard (IWB) is a large
interactive display in the form factor of a whiteboard. It can either be a
standalone touchscreen computer used independently to perform tasks and
operations, or a connectable apparatus used as a touch pad to control computers
from a projector. It is also used in a variety of settings, including
classrooms at all level in education even in school or college.
VISUALIZATION TECHNOLOGIES #1 : AUGMENTED
REALITY
Augmented reality is a technology that
superimposes a computer-generated image on a user's view of the real world,
thus providing a composite view. But, this is sometimes across multiple sensory
modalities, including visual, auditory, hap tic, extrasensory, and olfactory.
Moreover, Augmented Reality (AR) is used to
enhance natural environments or situations and offer perceptually enriched
experiences. With the help of advanced AR technologies (e.g. adding computer
vision and object recognition) the information about the surrounding real world
of the user becomes interactive and digitally manipulable.
VISUALIZATION TECHNOLOGY #2 : VIRTUAL REALITY
The Virtual reality (VR) is an interactive
computer-generated experience taking place within a simulated environment. It
incorporates mainly auditory and visual feedback, but may also allow other
types of sensory feedback like haptic. This immersive environment can be
similar to the real world or it can be fantastical.
There are many more uses of Virtual Reality
than first realised which range from academic research through to engineering,
design, business, the arts and entertainment. But irrespective of the use,
virtual reality produces a set of data which is then used to develop new
models, training methods, communication and interaction.
DIGITAL STRATEGIES #3 : MAKERPLACE
A maker place is a community center that
provided a technology, manufacturing equipment and educational opportunities to
the public. It is about exploring and discovering new ideas. Such as creating
and building. It is also about try something new. Most of this is sharing them
with other.
DIGITAL STRATEGIES #2 : BYOD
BYOD is the short form of bring your own
device. It is the increasing trend toward employee-owned devices within a
business. Smartphones are the most common example but employees also take their
own tablets, laptops and USB drives into the class. So that, the device is
using for access information that we need.
CONCLUSION
From this module, I have learned about
classroom technology tools and trends. In this 21st century, I came to know
about all of the benefits of each technology where it brings lots of advantages
for everyone. we have a lot of technologies that can help us in education such
as computer. The useful technologies can help us to have a better teaching and
learning process. Besides, a teacher must knows how to implement the technology
in their class as a helper.
I spend a a lot of time to complete this
module because I need to watch the videos first before answer the quiz. Through
the videos, I able to understand how to use or apply the technology in the
classroom for the process of teaching and learning in future.
It is very useful for me to understand the
technology that I can use in the future as a teacher. This activity also make
me excited to learn about technology in education. For an example, like what I
learn from the video the interactive whiteboard can help an educator to easily
use it in the class. It is because the teacher no need to using chalk in the
class and the students can use their smartphone to access to what their
teachers are teaching in the front of the classroom. The, the teachers also can
send the copies of the subject that they learnt on that day to the students via
various of technology such as using smartphone.
As a learner, this module makes me realized
that technology is very useful in education as a tools for gain knowledge and
new experiences. The technology also will help in teaching and learning process
in this 21st century. So that, it is make us know the technology is useful and
need to provides in process of teaching and learning
